Philippa Hann
Philippa Hann is an author, keynote speaker and a leading voice on ethics, integrity and decision-making in financial services.
Before becoming CEO of award-winning, employee-owned Paradigm Norton Financial Planning, Philippa spent 20 years at the forefront of financial services litigation. As an equity partner and Head of Litigation at a major law firm, she acted both for and against financial institutions, leading complex claims arising from fraud, negligence and systemic misconduct. Her work representing British Steel pensioners took her to the UK Parliament, where she gave evidence to the Public Accounts Committee about the regulation of financial advice and contributed to the UK’s All Party Parliamentary Group on Fair Business Banking’s report into compensation and redress schemes.
Those experiences left Philippa with a compelling question: why do good people do bad things—particularly with other people’s money?
That question inspired The Fault Lines of Finance, co-authored with neuropsychologist Dr Moira Somers. Drawing on gripping real-life cases, behavioural science and decades of professional experience, the book explores the hidden psychological pressures and organizational forces that can pull decent people away from their values.
